Being only just over an hour by plane from Bangkok, Krabi province in southern Thailand is one of the most striking coastal destinations in Thailand. It is less busy than Phuket, and even more laid back than Koh Samui (if that is possible!) and boasts a vast number of attractions and activities such as world class diving, snorkeling in crystal clear waters, sailing in some of the most breathtaking scenery you will find anywhere in the world, rock climbing, fishing and much much more.

Krabi has quite an array of different accommodations from beach huts to budget hotels, ultra luxurious private villas to five star hotels and boutique hotels too. Our pick of the five star hotels in Krabi would have to be the Phulay Bay Ritz Carlton. Follow the links and the rest should speak for itself.

Krabi’s natural beauty is something to behold, and is probably what it is most famous for. Some of the best beaches in Thailand can be found here along with vast, towering limestone cliffs that rise majestically from the water. There are also stunning waterfalls, caves to investigate, beautiful temples, plush rain forest and exotic flora and fauna. The best beaches in Krabi have to be Hat Rai Le and Ao Nang. Both have plenty of restaurants and shops nearby and both also offer dive trips to some of the best surrounding dive sites. Ao Nang allows you to explore the stunning seascape either from a boat or at a more leisurely pace in a kayak where you can see close up exactly what is on offer offshore, the seas are mostly calm in this area so kayaking is fairly easy.

Some great things that you should consider doing while in Krabi are:
